One of the most common bits of feedback I get from customers is that I should be offering my paintings as clothing or housewares. I get this comment so frequently I decided that it didn’t make sense to ignore this advice any longer. The past two months I took time to learn all about surface pattern design, and how to create repeating patterns. It’s challenging and fun, and I’m really glad to add this skill to my repertoire.
After doing some research, I decided to offer my designs on Spoonflower. Since I’m so new to this field it makes sense for me to use this platform as I build up a portfolio. I plan on entering their biweekly contests and also create patterns based on my abstract paintings.
Here is a sampling of some of my abstract patterns and a few of the products they can be purchased on:
For now you can shop all of my designs at this link. Spoonflower not only offers rolls of wallpaper and fabric, but also housewares like curtains, sheet sets, pillow covers and table-cloths.
If you’d like to know when I get new designs added I’ll be sharing them in my monthly newsletter (join by filling out the form in the footer), or I update Instagram and Facebook several times a week. And if you are interested in hiring me to create an original repeating pattern you are welcome to get in touch!
