I met Sue in high school When I met her I thought she was weird in a cool way, musically talented and very smart. I remember she would know things about things and was one of the most intelligent people in any of the classes I took. I know that sounds vague, but it’s been almost two decades since I’ve interacted with her! When I look back I kind of wish I had made more of an attempt to be a closer friend, because I kind of related to her. I was extremely shy back then. Now she has three kids and is a music teacher. This painting includes her twin daughters who I have never met but thought it would be fun to show as a family portrait.
I would like to take a moment to mention that Mothers Day is coming up and family portraits make a great gift. If you would like to commission a portrait for your mom I recommend ordering now. It takes about a month or two to order materials, paint all of the layers, let them dry, apply a fixative, and ship them out. I will not be available for the first two weeks of May.
