Original 12×12 painting on a ready-to-hang panel.

Last year I took a trip to Boston and visited the Harvard Museum of Natural History. They had a huge bug collection, so I took loads of photos to use as reference in future artworks. Painting bugs is fun, and challenging. The creepy-crawly subject matter provides something different from the cute and cuddly that I often get commissioned to paint. Gotta keep things interesting!
This piece was painted with acryla-gouache on a 3/4″ thick cradled panel. This panel is ready-to-hang with the sides painted, and a wire installed. No need for a frame, unless you want to add one. Finally, the painting was finished with a UV-protectant varnish.
