Robed Gold Llama | Relief Painting
$670.00
This one of a kind sculpture/painting was a collaboration between Mindy and sculptor Joseph Lupiani.
Get your hands on this ultra-rare collaboration with the incredible Vermont-based sculptor Joseph Lupiani! We used to work together at the same day job. One day Joe brought in some carved relief sketches made out of some scrap wood. He said they were prototypes that he was messing around with. But then we started brainstorming, what would happen if I painted them? It turns out our styles mesh into something pretty spectacular. At least I think so! We are hoping to make more of these in the near future.
This particular piece was carved out of hemlock, and painted with acryla-gouache. Loop rings with wire are installed on top for hanging. The relief dimensions are 12-1/4″w x 17-7/8″h x 1″d.
I used a gold metallic paint on the llama’s fur, and painted the bottom of the sides to give it a “dipped” look. The unpainted wood on the sides reveals what the surface originally looked like before paint was applied.
