In this 2.5 hour workshop, artist Mindy Fisher will walk students through the creation of an abstract painting using acryla-gouache and paint markers.
All skill levels are welcome, but this is a great class for beginners or for anyone who hasn’t picked up a paintbrush in awhile. Mindy’s guidance is encouraging and hands-off. If you have ever wanted to try painting with gouache this is a fun introduction. We will be using acryla-gouache, a close relative of regular, old gouache.
Each participant will receive a canvas (size to be determined). Paints and brushes are supplied. Just bring a photograph of your best non-human friend for reference (printed or accessible from your phone or device). Please wear clothing that can get paint on it, since this medium does stain clothing.
We will go over:
-What Acryla-Gouache is
-How to start a painting when you don’t know what to do
-Choosing a color scheme
-Various painting techniques that can be used throughout
Due to the size of the studio, class sizes will be limited to five students. If there is enough interest I will add more workshop dates.
